Prescription Activation

ALL PRESCRIPTIONS MUST BE ACTIVATED USING ONE OF THREE WAYS: 
1) In-house and E-Prescribed prescriptions may be activated by calling 843-794-6100 and picked up through the Drive-Thru or ScriptCenter.
2) Utilize our QR Code to activate a new prescriptionClick here for QR Code and Instructions
3) Using MHS GENESIS Patient Portal https://my.mhsgenesis.health.mil 

Please Note: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform staff for your baby's safety.
Children 12 years and younger require weight verification to ensure correct dosing.

Need refills?

Refills can be requested by calling the 24-hour refill phone line at (843) 794-6120.  Patients must have the prescription number and the last four digits of the Sponsor's Social Security Number to complete the submission.
 

Need medication counseling? 

Did you know Pharmacists of Naval Health Clinic Charleston provide medication counseling services?  Contact the pharmacy to schedule a one-on-one counseling session.  A Pharmacist will sit down with you and review your medications, answer any of your questions, and offer valuable advice.  Call (843) 794-6100 to take advantage of this great opportunity.


Picking up someone else's prescription?

All patients 10 years and older must present a valid military ID card to pick up medications.  When picking up medication(s) for patients over the age of 10, one must have a valid military ID or be in possession of the patient's military ID (or photocopy of the front & back), and have a signed statement from the patient (or legal guardian) authorizing the representative to act on the patient's behalf. 
 

First time prescription?

The pharmacy accepts both military and civilian prescriptions for eligible beneficiaries. New prescriptions will be filled for any item on the pharmacy formulary. NHCC Pharmacy no longer accepts faxed or written prescriptions. Telephone prescriptions and renewal requests are not accepted. Noncontrolled prescriptions are honored for 365 days from the date the prescription was written. Controlled medications will not be filled early and postdated prescriptions will not be filled.

E-Prescribing

Naval Health Clinic Charleston Pharmacy no longer accepts faxed prescriptions or dropped-off envelopes with written prescriptions.

Tips for E-Prescribing

1) Know the name of your medication
2) Confirm E-Prescription Before driving to Naval Health Clinic Charleston to pick up your prescription, call your doctor or the pharmacy to confirm that the prescription has been E-Prescribed to Navel Health Clinic Charleston.
 

How to Pick Up Your Prescription

1) Ask your doctor to E-Prescribe your prescription.
2) Call (843) 794-6100 to activate your prescription before you pick up.
3) Pick up at the Drive-thru or ScriptCenter.

*Refills will be ready for pickup 48 business hours after called in. Any refills called in on Friday after 12 p.m., Saturday or Sunday will be ready Wednesday after 8 a.m.

Accepted: Pills, Tablets, Capsules, Ointments, Cream, Lotion, Powders, Patches, Vitamins, Liquid Medicine (less than 4 oz)    
Not Accepted: Aerosol-spray, Batteries, Chemicals, Thermometers, Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Needles and Syringes, Home-based care, Durable equipment, Liquid Medicine (more than 4 oz)

(Please Note: By law, NHCC staff are NOT permitted to dispose of medications for patients.)
